Windows 11 23H2 is coming this fall, as Microsoft has now officially confirmed. This second official Windows 11 update, version 23H2, won't include as many changes as 23H1. This is due to Microsoft's dedication to Windows 12, which has been confirmed for a fall 2024 release.
Several documents and Windows preview builds proved the existence of Windows 11 23H2. Some users have reported seeing "23H2" mentioned in Windows Settings and Winver.
Microsoft may also use the "enablement package" toggle to activate previously hidden features. This is consistent with Microsoft's new approach to updates, which emphasizes high-quality features over a large number of them. The Moment 4 update, however, will bring new features to the upcoming Windows 11 23H2 update.
New preview builds include a (hidden) reference to Windows 11 23H2.
In Windows 11's upcoming 23H2 update, users will finally be able to ungroup their taskbar icons. With the new "never combined mode," you can have your windows for each app clearly labeled on the taskbar.
Users can modify the behavior of their taskbar by going to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviour.
The search box and highlight have undergone a new hover behavior that should make searches more interactive.
The new interaction model re-enables the search flyout that was introduced in Build 23440 but disabled as a result of a bug.
By right-clicking the taskbar, selecting "Taskbar settings," and then selecting the desired search box experience, you can disable the feature or modify its behavior.
Additionally, Windows 11 23H2 will introduce a new and improved File Explorer with a fresh look. Improved touch controls, a new address bar, a more precise search bar, and deeper integration with Microsoft 365 are just some of the perks in store for users.
New suggestions have been added to the Start menu that provide shortcuts, information on recently released software, and other useful resources.
Although it is intended to save users time, those who don't want to be suggested content have the option to disable it in the Start menu preferences.
Based on preliminary data, it appears that the Windows 11 23H2 update will include enhanced recommendations, such as those based on past web activity, in the near future.
These enhancements will most likely be included in the Windows 11 23H2 update, which is currently being tested in the Dev channel.
Even though Windows 11 23H2 isn't a huge upgrade, it will bring about significant and high-quality changes that should benefit the user experience and the system's overall performance.
Microsoft continues to fine-tune Windows 11 in anticipation of the rumored release of Windows 12, with a focus on taskbar management, search enhancement, and interface updates.
With undisputed convenience, wireless mice are increasingly popular, especially for laptop users. There are two basic types of wireless mice on the market: USB-RF and Bluetooth. The following article will show you how to connect both types of wireless mice to your Windows 11 computer.
Connecting a USB-RF mouse
The USB-RF mouse connects to your Windows 11 PC via a dongle. To connect to a USB-RF mouse, your PC will have to have an available USB-A port (if not, you can consider using a USB hub). The good news is that Windows will handle most of the setup automatically without you having to do too much.
To get started, flip the switch on your mouse. Each product is different, but there is usually a small switch on the bottom that allows you to turn the mouse on and off as needed. Then, plug your mouse's dongle into your PC's USB-A port.
As soon as Windows 11 starts to connect with the device, a little notice will show in the lower right corner of the screen.
